The high rise resort hotel, located in a valley just to the west of the Shawangunk Mountains, was opened in 1901. Its property included a once highly regarded 18-hole golf course, a nine hole golf course, ice skating, skiing, both an indoor and outdoor pool, and a health club. The resort hotel began to struggle financially and eventually closed its doors without notice in 2009. Today, there are plans to refurbish the remaining structures on the property and turn it into a resort and casino.
